Education/Experience:

N6 Electrical with at least 5 years of related experience in areas such as Preventative maintenance, machine breakdowns and safety systems.

Must have a sound working knowledge of general maintenance engineering PLC, Robotic Controls and CNC experience is advisable.

Knowledge or word processing software, spreadsheet software and applied reporting / communication software.

Must be able to use instruments such as ammeters, multimeters, voltmeters, hydrometers, and the use of generator to test benches.

Knowledge Siemens S7 and Mitsubishi Plc’s – Programming and On-line fault finding

Through technical knowledge of electricity and its application. It is also necessary to have basic knowledge of electronics.

Computer literate in MS Word and MS Excel

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following

  • Plan and coordinate the daily work routines of the electricians and ensure effective day and night shift cover.
  • Ensure overtime is managed effectively and kept within budget.
  • Order and control spare parts.
  • To assist production to keep machines running.
  • Schedule each day’s work
  • Check and sign off job cards.
  • Print weekly tpms.
  • Log weekly TPMS on data base
  • Control of critical spares on site
  • Machine refurbishing
  • Getting daily quotes
  • Quoting for CARS – CAPEX – Projects
  • 5 s audits
  • Attend to production breakdowns.
  • Control of nightshift schedule
  • Attend to meetings when necessary.
  • 24 hrs standby 7 days a week – or split amongst your peers.
  • Implement of substation maint. Contractors
  • Implement of paintshop burners maint. Contractors
  • Attend to all factory and office buildings regarding electrical issues.
  • Assist auditors when needed.
  • Implement of maint. Staff appraisals as well as objectives.
  • Attend to all electrical calibrations – certificates
  • Assist with TMSS.

  • See outside reps on an on-going basis

EMSEC Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical support and assistance in the area of machine safety.
  • Reviews design criteria for new and relocated equipment.
  • Manages and supervises the objectives on machine safety and design criteria are achieved as outlined.
  • Provides technical support to equipment design engineers and process engineers in the area of safety.
  • Ensures company standards on Machine Safety are implemented and adhered to
  • Leads and/or organizes equipment and machinery acceptance reviews / audits.
  • Ensures the role of EMSEC technician for smaller (JIT) Plants
  • Takes part in project teams to identify the most efficient and cost-effective methodology to comply with the company.
  • Standards on Machine Safety in conjunction with optimized output and production efficiency.
  • Ensures compliance with Lean Principles and other company initiatives to improve production.
  • Enforces the process of standardization of safety components and works with GSCM in establishing the correct and most effective supply cost of the identified preferred supplier.

PLC Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all machines are maintained in acceptable working conditions.
  • Repair and fault finding of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Testing of circuits and assemblies by systematic trouble shooting.
  • The installation and maintenance of electric motors, switch and control gears, generators, transformers, conduct and cable wiring of buildings and plants.
  • Installation, maintenance, repair, modification, and refurbishment of all electronically controlled machine tools, gauging and instrumentation, including fault finding of diagnostics.
  • Timely completion and submission of all reports detailing cost.
  • Effective management of personnel under their responsibility.
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained.
  • Ensure that the necessary maintenance, bot predictive and preventative maintenance are fully implemented
